Grandson post

It's been awhile since I posted a picture of my grandson. He will be 18 months old on June 25 and boy is he a power house. He is all boy, he is jumping off furniture, climbing on everything, getting into everything and wants to run, run, run us ragged. He is also the sweetest little boy, he comes and hugs and kisses me all the time. I just am so much in love with this baby. Being a grandma is the best.

Annie doll swap

I made this little lady for an Annie swap. Her strawberry is made of 100% wool. I am actually making three more in various sizes.

Redwork wallhanging swap

Ok, so this is my first real attempt at a wallhanging. I really liked doing the redwork though. It goes so quickly when you only use one color. I wish I had gotten a better picture of her.

Crow stitcheries

I made these crow stitchery pillows for another swap with the same group as the ornies. I like this simple design a lot.

A gaggle of crow ornies

I was in a swap not long ago to make ornies, so I made 8 ornie and sent out 6 of them to my swapmates. I had so much fun making these ornies. My sweety had to have one and so did I (I think he is my biggest fan).

Bunnies are addicting

I came across a website by Jennifer Murphy of http://www.jmurphybears.com/home.html. She has the cutest little Bunny project on her site or you can see it at http://www.jmurphybears.com/projects.html, just scroll to the bottom of the page, there is also a pumpkin man project which is very cute too. I never thought I would really like a project like this, but I had so much fun making one that I made another one after. I plan to make more in different colors, because Bunnies after all can be shown all the time. This is my version of Jennifer's Bunny.

Whatever you do................

Don't catch the virus that is going around. It had me down for a whole month, which is why I have not posted in so long. It's been a long, long month this last month. First I got sick right in the middle of my blog giveaway contest and I had already been sick 2 weeks before that.

Then on February 26, my 2004 dodge stratus was completely destroyed by some guy in a parking lot. It turned out that I owed more for the car than it was worth so I didn't get any money to replace it. The car company got the money and I still OWE! Grrrr. So no car with a teenager and a 15 month old and unreliable bus transportation where we live. So between a rental and my mom's car we have been making due.

Finally, yesterday Easter Sunday, my mom took me to a dealer she spoke to on the phone and after being there for 6 hours I drove home in a new 2007 Hyundai Accent silver. Here's a pic. So now I have a new car and things are looking up. My energy is coming back and I can post some pictures of things I have worked on. I sent out the two prizes for the blog giveaway too. So in a couple of days I will post those pictures. I hope everyone has a great week.

Lisa

I was supposed to do this last night but have been sick again! I do apologize for not getting to this before now. We do have a winnder. I took all of the comments and then the emails letting me know that you advertised on your blog and put them in a bowl and had my daughter pull one name. Then I took the people who advertised separately and had my honey pull one name.\

The winner is Yvette, Yvette said "Wow Lisa 100 posts! You sure do talk a lot LOL. (Just kidding :0) Congratulations for getting to that milestone"

The second winner is Sue from Rabbithollowprimitives, Sue said "Woohoo way to go Lisa good job."

I want to thank everyone who took the time to come and post on my blog I truly appreciate it and would love to run another contest in the near future just for fun.

One more week

One more week until I draw the winner for the contest. Who will be the lucky person to win. Come on, tell all your friends about my giveaway and they can have a chance at winning something. It's Friday and I am mailing off two more swaps today and one more on Monday and I am done swapping for the time being. Now I can concentrate on some good news I recently got. If you read about my foray into the world of ebay in an earlier post, then you know that I will not try it again with them. I have been accepted as an artisan on http://dandeliondarlings.com/. The grand opening is on April 1. Woohoo!! Wish me luck..

Post number 98

Well this is my 98th post, only 2 more to go for 100. I'm not sure why 100 is such a milestone, but everyone seems to have some kind of giveaway or blogiversary when they hit 100. I have been busy with swaps again, but I am almost done and will devote time to my projects for my doll club meeting on March 1. I also am almost done with the blog giveaway prize and will post a picture this weekend most likely. I have some pictures to post later on and hope to have the energy and feel well enough to get online after work tonight. Until then, have a great day everyone!

Am I doing something wrong?

Ok, so I listed the little elephant doll on ebay and not one bid!! I was totally disspapointed about it and wodner what on earth I could have done wrong, is she not prim enough? is she too cutesie? was my starting price too low or too high? It had me knocked down for a few days. My website is still under construction, but has some stuff on it. I know I need to advertise more, but with the economy the way it is and my full time job outside the home not much time is left for all the advertising. I want to be able to create and post and sell some things too, but so far it is not working out very well. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be sooooooooo appreciated.

Please bare with me and keep coming back, I promise that the giveaway will be worth the effort. I finally bought a scanner so I will be able to put some of my free patterns online. Have a great night..

Easter Basket Giveaway

Nancy of Vintage Whimsy and Folkart Originals is having a giveaway. If you haven't seen her awesome work visit her blog at http://nancymalay.blogspot.com/. You can read more about her easter basket giveaway and sign up for it too.

Getting Closer and I've been tagged!

I have been tagged by Lynda Cansfield of http://whimsicalprims.blogspot.com. I am supposed to list 5 things about myself and then tag 5 more people. So here goes.

1. I am very quiet and shy
2. I have been writing a novel for the last 2 years and I had a play produced at the private university I work at last fall
3. I was born on St. Patrick's day and I am also half Irish and I collect shamrocks and leprechauns
4. I believe in the magic that all of our children start out with and carry it with me everywhere (like: santa, fairies, lepechauns and the special myth involved with those things) Everyone needs some magic in their lives
5. I believe that everything (good or bad) happens because it was supposed to happen, I feel that we map out our lives before we are born because of the lessons we need to learn.

11 more posts (including this one) to go

What am I talking about? Well this post will be my 90th and I am just a short way from my 100th post. I am going to host a contest with a handmade by me giveaway for the winner. I WILL mail anywhere too ;-) Keep watching for more information about my giveaway contest and help spread the word. I don't know how to do the fancy button thing for advertising though.

Valentine exchange

Each time my doll club meets, we have a challenge, exchange and class. We start our day out showing and sharing our newest creations, patterns, books and ideas. Usually we choose a theme and use it to decide our exchange and challenge. This time we had the fairy house class, our challenge was to make a fairy for our house and our exhcange was a valentine related item. I made this wall hanging out of red felt and a gorgeous red/purple plaid homespun. I love this color.

Another Swap

I got this gorgeous swap from Judirose in Australia. I love it all. I really love the gift bag with the map of Australia. I am going to frame it and hang it on the wall. The snowman is awesome. Thanks Judirose.

Fairy Houses and contest

At my doll club on Saturday, we made these little felt fairy houses. This was a really fun project, so much fun I came home and started some more smaller ones. This one stays with me, but I am going to make some of the smaller ones and try them on ebay. Maybe I might make some milk money for my grandson. Anyway, I noticed that I am getting closer to my 100th post and have been cooking up a contest. Not too sure what it will entail (it will be simple) but some kind of contest, with (YES) a free handmade giveaway!! Woo hoo, so check back frequently in the next week and a half for details about the contest.

First doll of 2008

Well, I am finally beginning to feel better and managed to finish a doll that I started right after Christmas. Her name is Ellie the elephant. I don't seem to be getting much traffic at my website, so am considering trying ebay, but I haven't got the first clue about how to do it. Anyway, Ellie is probably going to be my first ebay listing as long as I can figure out how to list her. I would love comments letting me know if you like her.

Ornie

Well, I realized that there was one thing I finished over my Christmas break. I made this snowman ornie and had plans to make some more, but was too sick. So, I guess you could say that I was lucky to get this one done at all.

Happy New Year

(First step Christmas Eve)
(Santa brought him a trike)
(first bath as a 1 year old)
(Christmas train birthday cake)
(Fingers in cake)
With the holidays and some minor medical issues I have been out of the loop again. This Christmas was my grandson's first birthday, he was born on Christmas morning of 2006. Here are some pictures of him to check out, he took his first step on Christmas eve and ate ham and turket at Christmas dinner and was such a little gentleman when putting his fingers in the christmas train cake I made him. What a delight this little boy is and what joy he has brought to our home. We are so blessed. I want to wish everyone out there a Happy New Year and hope that this year I will be more productive and healthier. I am working on some new dolls and crafts and hope to post some new pictures soon. Some of them are for swaps and won't be posted until the person receives them.
