My jolly Scrooge

My grandson Keaondray will be one year old on December 25th. He is truly a miracle for me and the light of my life. Here are his newest pics.

I know it is Christmas but I am behind

I made these two pinkeeps at Halloween. They are for sale on my site www.craftyeladyecreations.com.

More swaps

I belong to Crazyaboutpincushions on yahoogroups.com and I love to swap. This is a secret santa swap I received from my partner Luann. She is so generous and talented. Love my prim snowman.

My First Prim Tree

This is my very first prim tree, I have been making primitive dolls and stuff for a year now. Yay, happy anniversary for me. I am so much happier with primitives than I was with other dolls. I have finally found my niche. Please visit my new website (ongoing construction, so check back often), I am working on a guestbook so you can leave comments there and let me know what you think.

One more swap

I belong to The Primitive Artisan's Guild and we are doing a monthly ornie swap. I made the reindeer for Kat and Karen made me the sheep and stocking pin with my name on it.

Another swap

I swapped with Diane on primraggchatters at yahoo groups another halloween swap. She made the witch with the tilted head and I made the pumpkin witch.

Swapping

I did a Halloween swap on InternationalPrimdollmakers at yahoo groups as well. This is what I sent and received. The cat is what I made the witch is what I received from Kirrily.

More swaps

I also did an autumn leaves pincushion swap on my yahoo group Crazyaboutpincushions. This is from Loretta. I have not finished hers or my other partners yet, but as soon as they receive theirs I will post pics. Thanks Loretta.

Been swapping again

Well this time I did a fall swap on my yahoo group Aprimitiveheart. This was fun since I didn't have any fall decorations to put up in my house. Which is odd because I adore this time of year. Thanks to my partner Laura for her generosity and her talent.

Faery tree at work

This is one of my favorite spots at work, this is what I call my faery tree. At the base of the tree there is an opening just large enough for a faery or little leprechaun to fit into. I finally remembered to bring my camera so I could take a picture of it. Isn't it breathtaking?

Old houses and friends

Willie is the custodian for Meadowlands, the place I work. He has been working here for 35 years. He is my dearest friend and has adopted us as we have adopted him. He is an orphan, so every year we have him for Thanksgiving as well as other times for dinner throughout the year. After almost 10 months has has decided to hold my grandson and I captured this great picture of them last week.

Where I work

I have the distinct pleasure to work in one of the most beautiful places in Northern California. Not only is the campus incredibly beautiful, but the office I work in is in the ground floor of a 120+ year old victorian house named Meadowlands. Here is a picture of it.

Been awhile

Since I have posted, a dear friend I have known since I was 17 has died in a motorcycle accident, that is the third death in my life in 8 weeks. This hit pretty hard because he has been a part of my life for so long and it has left a hole in my heart.

I have been creating here and there, mostly for swaps and things, but do have a few pictures to share with you all.

Myspace

So I have joined the myspace generation. I did it for two reasons, the first is that my family from my dad's side are there and the other is that my prim dollmaking friends are there too. Check it out myspace.com/craftyeladyecreations.

Me and my grandson

I absolutely hate to get my picture taken, but this one turned out ok. This is the little light in my life, no matter how bad my day at work is a smile from him takes everything away.

Passing of a friend

I just got word that the oldest member of my doll club Dorothy passed away from a stroke last week. It saddens me to know that she will not be at the corner of the table anymore. Here is a pic of our club, Dorothy is in the middle.

My Daddy

1948-2007
I received the sad news that my father David Lee Wagenhurst passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2007. He was 59 years old having just celebrated his birthday in June. He lived in Texas and I live in California. I am deeply sorrowed by his passing. The funeral was tonight, but unfortunately I was unable to attend. I do hope that he is at peace and that all of the pain and suffering he endured have ended. I don't know what is at the end of this life, but I do know that we choose our lessons to learn.
May his soul rest in peace.
God bless you daddy.

My grandson

Well I have not been creating much lately, been too busy being a grandma. Our little one turned 8 months on Saturday and he is crawling and cruising and trying to walk and learn to feed himself all at once. Here are a couple of pics of him.

A new doll

The beach bag swap inspired me to make a cloth Hitty. Not sure what possessed me, but here she is. I made her dress and have begun another dress and picked out fabrics for several other dresses too, lol. I guess I am hooked. Her box is one that my mom gave me that had some perfumes and lotions in, it has 2 drawers so she is in one and her clothes in the other. I painted the box brown.

Doll club swap

I belong to a doll club that gets together about every 8 weeks or so. We meet in Livermore California and I travel about 60 miles each way to go, but it is worth it. Some of the other members travel farther than that. We have been meeting since October 2000. At every meeting we have show and tell of the projects we have been working on since the last meeting. We have a potluck lunch and then some sort of class or project that we work on in the afternoon and then we do an exchange usually pin doll or doll sized. This time we made little beach bags to fit the Hitty size doll. This is the one I made. I made little flip flops, a towel, a novel, I also made a little bottle of sunscreen with shrink paper, then I added a bottle of wine and a parasol. This was a fun one even though I rarely like to make things this small.

Another swap doll

This is Wicked Wanda, she is from Mother Earth and Me pattern. I love this witch she is my favorite of all time. I made this for my swap partner Deb who lives in Kentucky.

New Doll

This is a doll I finished for a swap on one of my doll lists on yahoo groups. She is grunged up with a coffee and cinnamon mixture and so is her dress. She has pigtails and is holding a little pink strawberry. Her name is Sweet Sadie.

Another swap received

I received this wonderful cat in another swap on Primraggchatters at yahoo groups. It was an alphabet swap and your partner could make something using her initials or yours. Since my last name begins with "W" she made me a cat named Wicca.

Been swapping lately

Lately I have been involved with some cool swaps. This one is what I received from my partner in the red white and blue swap on crazyaboutpincushions at yahoo groups. My partner was Gerrie and this is what she sent me.

Covered tape measure

Anyway my pincushion group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/crazyaboutpincushions/
had a covered tape measure swap, I did not participate in the swap but decided to give it a try. I added my own touch to show my love for dolls and it was a lot of fun. The tutorial is here http://whipup.net/2006/03/09/customised-tape-measure/.

Pincushions

Been on a pincushion kick lately, not sure why except maybe because they are quick I get almost instant gratification and sometimes when I have been ill or in a slump I can get something quick done and get the energy for a new project. Was recently sick again and decided to make myself a cake. The bottom picture is the first one I made, like they say practice makes perfect. The top one is my most recent and I think it looks a lot better.

3 witches

These 3 ladies were made using a pattern by my dear friend and doll club member Lotus Vele. She is an awesome artist, so talented. As you can see I really like witches a lot.

Witches

I have a passion for Witches and this is Evil Esther a "Mother Earth and Me" design I made a few years ago

Holly Daze and Vine

The same people that put on Halloween and Vine close to where I live put on a Christmas show too called Holly Daze and Vine http://www.hollydazeandvine.com/. Woo hoo!

Cool Halloween Show

Believe it or not I found a Halloween art show near me, it is only a 30 minute drive to this and I can't wait. http://www.halloweenandvine.com/ it looks like it will be great fun.

More Halloween

Don't know why I am on a Halloween kick today, but I have found some more site for you to visit. http://www.halloween.com/ this is an awesome site it outlines the history of Halloween and lots of other great stuff. This next site is so cool, wish I lived near there I would be there all the time http://www.castlehalloween.com/.
And lastly, http://www.halloweenmagazine.com/link/index.html really enjoy visiting all of these sites, hope you do too.

Halloween

I love Halloween and surfing the web today I came across a fabulous site of Halloween artists http://ehaag.com/. If you love Halloween, you will love this site. I guess I love Halloween because it is the one day of the year that we allow ourselves to believe in the magic of past childhood and we can be anything that we want to be. I am creating a new doll for a swap on one of my lists and as soon as she is finished I will post her here. It is also Halloween in June at Pfatt Marketplace http://pfattmarketplace.com/. Another site you won't want to miss

Last but not Least

I am becoming pretty good at prim stitcheries. This is my third one now I am getting ready for a craft show in December.

WIP Finished

Remember the WIP I showed that were stained but nothing else. Well I finally finished one of them but I am not sure if I like how she came out.

Another project finished

This was made from a pattern that was free on The Chocoalte Crow Trader http://www.thechocolatecrowtrader.com/index.htm for May 2007. They turned out pretty well I think.

Finally something new to post

I just finished making this penny rug wallhanging that one of the ladies taught on The Primitive Artisans Guild where I am a member. Kare at Kmprimitives.com is a talented lady who shared this with a few of us and I am so pleased with how it turned out. I have become a hand stitiching fiend lately because I have been sick a lot the past few weeks and it is something I can do without setting up the sewing machine.

New stuff

Believe it or not I have been working on some things. I finished two wall hangings and a few dolls are in progress still. I heve never done a wall hanging and am looking for ways to display. I am not good at quilting either but here is my attempt at wall hangings one is for my daughter and the other is for my sister. I don't have pics of the other two wall hangings I am working on, but will soon. Will also add pics of the dolls I am working on as they are finished.
